| It is a timed event. Each obstacle values at certain number of points which equal seconds being either deducted as bonuses or added on as penalties. For instance, if your time is 3 min and 50 sec. And your dog missed a catwalk (worth 10 points), 10 seconds are added to your time and your receive 4 min. even at the end of the whole course. Bonus points are awarded for the handler and/or dog going over obstacles not required by rules but optional. For instance, 6-foot jump is worth 10 points for the dog going over and 10 points for the handler going over. Handlers in the 50+-age category were not required to go over the A-frame or the broken bridge. Shooting exercise had four targets. For each target miss, the handler had to perform two pushups. For dog trained in protection, bite work exercise was an option over a crawl under a tarp, both equal in points. Placements in Age Categories were as follows: |
